You playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightening about shrinking so others won’t feel insecure around you. As you let your own light shine, you indirectly give others permission to do the same. – Marianne Williamson
Shine! That one word says so much. It is a challenge, a command, and an inspiration to live boldly for our Lord. It is all wrapped up in one word. Light is one of God’s greatest creations. It has been associated with the presence of God. That simply means we are to have influence on others as a reflection of God in our lives.
Light removes darkness, reveals danger, shows us the path, but know that Jesus is our source of light and we are to reflect that light to others. Let us not waste our light; it is to shine brightly to for all to see!
The proper motive to influence us is not simply that we may be seen, but that our heavenly Father may be glorified. Wherever the children of God are, the light of God must shine in their midst. We are to shine in the middle of the darkness around us.
For our light to shine for Christ, we must be ready to face opposition, persecution from the world. So, when life feels too hard and the world feels hopeless, take heart. The best gift you can give everyone around you is your own courage to shine, to help, to rise. Our light is meant to be seen and in whatever we do.
Let your light shine!
You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:14
