Dr Shashi Ledwaba was born in rural Limpopo, in the Polokwane district. Originally trained as tailor, he traded for some years as “Shashi’s Modern Tailoring”. He was a born leader in the community and served in the Lebowa Legislative Assembly (1978-1989). He studied part time for his theological qualifications, eventually obtaining a BTh Hons, MA Theology and a PhD at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Pretoria. His thesis was about the development of indigenous leadership. Dr Ledwaba has been ordained to the priesthood in the Anglican Church in 2003. In 2008 he has been licensed as Priest-in-charge of the Parish of Mashashane and in 2011 as Archdeacon of the West. He is married to Mokgaetji Mabel (Marundeni) and they have two children. Dr Ledwaba traveled widely. He is a dedicated scholar and prolific author with a calling to serve the kingdom of God by providing inspiring leadership in the church – an inspired leader inspiring others.
