The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. – Eleanor Roosevelt

Our hope is not of this world or in this world our hope is in Christ Jesus. Paul shares this hope in Christ to the Colossians. This is his word for each one of us today too.

Colossians 1:10 “… that you will/may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God; may you be made strong with all strength that comes from his glorious power …”

A life bearing fruit in every good work is truly living life to the fullest. So many people have much activity in their lives yet little or no progress. For all the busyness in each of our lives, are you getting anywhere? Are you going anywhere? Is there a purpose for it all?

Purpose gives meaning to our lives. It gives one the ability to say, I know why I’m doing, what I’m doing. The questioned to be asked is, are you living, or are you just existing? There is a tremendous difference.

Living has been defined as “vigorous, alive, and full of life”. Existing is defined as, “to have being”, “to just being there.” So many wake up, and follow a routine each and every day, but have no real purpose in their lives.

However, we can learn to live lives that are full of vigour and livelihood, rather than being content with just “being” or just “existing”.

Seize each and every day and live life to the fullest. We are wrapped up in deadlines, commitments, problems and priorities, yet we do not seem to “seize the day”. Do not live a life of mediocrity, but strive for excellence, pursue your goals and achievements, love what you do and be passionate about it.

Press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 3:13–14
