The beautiful journey of today can only begin when we learn to let go of yesterday. – Steve Maraboli
There is a hanging bridge in the distance, and the closer I walk towards it, the picture becomes clearer. There are people standing around with suitcases. They all seemed to be tired and thirsty.
I realise that one cannot cross over the bridge without leaving your suitcase behind. It is time to put your suitcase down, to cut off of all past hurts and disappointments. It is time to offl oad.
What is written on your suitcase that you cannot put it down and walk over the bridge to the other side? Could it be “hurt”, “my ministry”, “jannie jammer”, “holding a grudge against someone”?
There is a new suitcase waiting for you. A new invitation, a new road, that history will be written that has never been before. A new beginning, a new season.
What is holding you back from entering into the Promised Land? Yesterday is gone, let us move forward and possess the land that is waiting for us. Let us get back to the heart of Jesus and hear the calling that God has for our lives.
Joshua 1:2–6
Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea
in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land, I swore to their ancestors to give them.
