It’s time to let God’s love cover all things in your life. All secrets. All hurts. All hours of evil, minutes of worry. – Max Lucado
“I say to you, do not worry about your life …” Our Lord says to be careful only about one thing and that is our relationship to him. But our common sense shouts loudly and says, “How can that be, I must consider how I am going to live, and I must consider what I am going to eat and drink.”
There will always be recurring waves of invasion, whether it is the need of clothing, or food or it may be a lack of friends; a lack of money, or just plain difficult circumstances. These things come in like a flood, unless we allow the Spirit of God to raise up the banner against it.
Let us not allow our minds to think that Jesus does not understand our circumstances. He knows our circumstances better than we ourselves do. These worries and concerns can become the primary concern in our life. Therefore, we must be sure always to put our relationship with God first.
“Sufficient for the day has its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34). Let us not worry about our day, or our tomorrow, next month or next year! Jesus tells us not to worry about any of these things. Look again and think. Keep your mind on the “much more” of your heavenly Father. You are much more valuable than any of those things. Keep your mind on the “much more” of your heavenly Father.
Matthew 6:25–27
Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
