Neo-Pentecostalism in Southern Africa – some Critical Reflections is a timely publication reflecting on a significant contemporary trend in African Christianity: the rapid rise of Neo-Pentecostalism. It is characterised by an emphasis on prosperity faith based on a quest for health and wealth; modern types of prophetic practices; charismatic ‘men of God’ working miracles and “speaking life”; experiential worship services against a pretentious affluent backdrop; the commodification of the gospel and a particular reading and application of the Bible.
