Be a reflection of what you would like to see in others! If you want love, give love, if you want honesty, give honesty, if you want respect, give respect. You get in return, what you give! – Author unknown

The Golden Rule says to treat others the way you want to be treated regardless of how they treat you. Let us love as Jesus told us to love – to treat others with kindness, mercy, forgiveness, compassion, gentleness and respect. This empowers us to live the life God wants us to live. Treat people as you would like to be treated.

It takes courage and humility to love those people who just seems hardest to love, those that make life difficult; criticize or complain. Let us be Christ- like and love them anyway. How would your life be different if for instance you stopped making negative judgemental assumptions about people you encounter?

Jesus couldn’t keep those who hated him from nailing him to the cross, but their hatred couldn’t keep him from teaching, preaching and healing with infinite compassion, mercy and love – which changed the lives of all those whose hearts he touched. It is not about what we get, but about what we give that matters. It is how we treat others that reflects your relationship with God.

Just as Christ is compassionate and loving towards you, I would like to encourage you to be the same toward others. Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

So, in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
