When iron is rubbed against another piece of iron it shapes and sharpens it. Similarly, people can help each other improve their suggestions and ideas. – Anonymous

Surround yourself with people who are going to lift you higher. We are only as sharp as the company we keep. So, to be sharpened is to be ready, useful, and productive in life. The principle is clear: just as iron sharpens iron, so we sharpen or influence to be someone to prepare, make glad, useful, productive and growing in every area of life.

Who is it in your life that is making you a better person? Who is in your life that is not afraid to challenge and help you to be closer to the person that God wants you to be?

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds and let us not give up but let us encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:24,25).

Don’t you want to be with people who are hungry for God? We fail to be productive when our spiritual edges are dull.

As a child of God, you have been called to make a difference in the lives of others. You have been called to be the light around you. It is important to have people in our lives that mean well and have our best interest at heart. Be that someone who sees the best in others.

Have you ever seen someone sharpening iron, sparks fly? We need people around us that we can gain knowledge from, someone who helps us to stay focussed on the vision God has given us. Somebody that can challenge and build you up.

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. As water reflects a face, so a man’s heart reflects the man. Proverbs 27:17
